What is GOODFELLOWS?
GOODFELLOWS is the oldest continuously running Jaycee project in the world, existing since 1934. This project has provided a Christmas to children that otherwise would not have a Christmas experience. About 200 children are treated to a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings, gifts from Santa, and most importantly, a $125 shopping trip to Hudson Belk for shoes, coats, and clothing.
A few weeks before the day of the event, each child is paired with a chaperone, who is a member of the Raleigh Jaycees. The chaperone contacts the child's parents or guardians to set up a meeting time and place to pick up the child the day of Goodfellows. On Sunday, Dec 10, 2000 in the early afternoon, each child will be picked up by his or her chaperone. They then will go to the Crabtree-Marriott Raleigh for Christmas Dinner. After dinner each child is given a gift during his or her visit with Santa.
After visiting with Santa, everyone will go to Hudson Belk at Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh for their shopping adventure. After the shopping is complete, the children are returned home.

How Can You Help?
The cost of running GOODFELLOWS is about $55,000. This money is raised entirely from donations from businesses, groups and individuals throughout the community. Please consider one of the following five levels of support. (If you want to contribute more, that is not a problem.)
1. Corporate $500.
This will cover the expenses of more than 2 children.
2. Goodfellow $200.
This gift will fully cover costs for one child allowing her or
him to truly experience the magic of Christmas.
3. Stocking Stuffer $100.
This will cover half of the expenses of a child.

Is this gift tax deductible?
Your contribution is tax deductible. The GOODFELLOWS Foundation is a 501 C-3. Our tax ID number is 58-1697505.
Can you contribute through the United Way?
Yes. Our United Way number is 3700. Please designate on your United Way reply card "Goodfellows Foundation" and the United Way ID number "3700."
